Default I retired today

Today was the last day for my home daycare, after twenty two years of
raising my own two and about 48 other children I'm done. Now
I am off to be just "Nana" to my own granddaughter, and to take the next
step down a new path.

Diana in Dallas
(a little emotional and alot relieved)

Congratulations! Does this mean we'll see you in Houston at the quilt

Just don't let friends and family assume that now you are
not a professional child carer you are available for free
babysitting lol

Happy dance time!!

Cheryl is so right. Unless you retired to be everybody's free babysitter,
you'd better arm yourself with firm reasons why not as well as phone
numbers. Friends, friends of friends, strangers and neighbors are all
inclined to assume that if you are retired that you'll just be glad to take
care of all of their needs. You can not if you are hoping to have a life of
your own.
And it's okay to be emotional about retiring. You can weep for at least
ten minutes. More than that will be wasting some wonderful time to do what
Diana would like to do when she wants to do it. Polly
