Hallo Melinda , welcome to the this happy place ,,,,
Hummmm MUFF , i had a picture of me AGES ago as a cahild with frozen
hands ,,, Yearss after this somebody asked for a muff , and as i had
no pattern i worked this out ,,,,,
if you can knit in the round ,,,if not do it in a rectangular piece
and sew it up . guague some nice wool you like, cast on stiches
enough for circumference of your arm 10 cm above palm. rib for 7 cm
k2 p2. now k 2 plain rows add 6 stiches divided around the row evenly
and now knit the length of your hand [ about 30 cm ] if you like make
a pattern. put on another needle, turn over and cast on stiches on
inside of the the row where you added the 6 stiches, knit to same
length as first one , now knit 1 st from first part with 1st from 2nd
part and also decrease the 6 st evenly divivded on this row, i.e. you
will have now on your needle a cloth that has 2 layers,,, now kni 2
rows , and rib again k2 , p2 , cast of when both ribbed parts are same
length ,,,, if you knitted it as rectangle , sew the side seam, ,, if
you worked it in the round, you have finnished ,,,,,
the double knit part should add warmth ,,,
You could also knit only one middle part and add an inner piece of
cloth for added warmth ...
