Default Stupid, stupid, stupid (but I can't wait for it to get here)

Last night I was up late, not feeling good, facing another dismal and
depressing holiday season. And I started link chasing across the
Internet, starting at a fabric blog and .... you know the story. I
ended up at an Etsy.com store that sells amazing fabric, that up to
date and oh so perfect stuff that mothers of perfect children buy to
make them perfect and very European looking clothes.

And I bought. http://www.etsy.com/shop/SoFunFabric...ion_id=6087865
I got six fqs and one yard of this incredible fabric collection. The
grand total was almost $35. I shouldn't have done it. And I feel
horribly guilty because I have no clue what to do with it. But when it
gets here there's a good chance I'm going to make it into a blankie to
sleep with, ROFL. These colors and textures just got me.

So that's my Christmas for the year, I think. I will have to come up
with a good way to "confess" and explain that I already spent the
budget for my own gifts. But oh my, it looks so gorgeous. And
inevitably it works better than another pair of too-small house
slippers.

Well, speaking as one who hardly ever has a plan for any fabric
purchases, please don't beat yourself up over it! Love is enough
reason to buy any fabric.
Roberta in D, and I own too many house slippers already

Hey, if we all bought only what we 'needed', the economy would go into
a further tailspin!

And I love shopping on the internet. I get the thrill of buying, the
anticipation of waiting and the charge when it actually arrives at the
door. Yesterday I got wonderful golden gradiance yarn and beads for a
future shawl and a green suede purse that makes me smile just thinking
about it.

As long as you're not taking food out of someone's mouth to make your
purchases, go for it! I'm trying to practice that lesson myself. Two
relatives have died recently. Both denied themselves things (that
they probably would have enjoyed) to leave money to the next
generation.

While I'm not going to buy myself a yacht or an ermine coat, damnit if
I want a green suede purse or more yarn, I'M GOING TO GET IT!

Enjoy your fabric. It's beautiful and it will make you grin all over
when it arrives.

I got stalled in Sunny's post wondering just how many pairs of too-small
houseshoes we had to keep? Are we morally obligated to age them for a
number of years? Would we be classified as impossible to please if we
sneaked them to the Thrift Shop instead of suffering crimped toes?
And, me too! I have a new batik that I have no idea where she goes. It
is black with grass green dots about the size of dimes. Makes me smile.

I have just been sorting through donations for our Flower Arranging
Clubs Christmas Fair. We are having a new stall this year 'Winter
Warmers'. On top of the pile of gloves, hats and scarves was a small
pair of slippers - you obviously aren't the only one to collect them!

Fabric that makes you smile. Such a lovely reason to buy some. At the
very least for future fondling even if a project does not come to mind.

I LOVE my stash!

Don't beat yourself up. You love it and it's made you feel better. Plus,
I'm sure you will find something to do with it.

Enjoy that fabric that makes you smile! : ) I"m tired of quilt
myself. After 62 years of feeling quilting over just about
everything, I'm trying to make some "adjustments." I did the same
thing you did yesterday. I found some gorgeous fabric at a LQS and
bought enough for a throw. Didn't need it, don't need another throw,
but, it spoke to me like your fabric did to you and I bought it. NO
Quilt! I'm happy for you and I hope you just love it when it comes!
