"Lifeline" residue
Ok, I goofed. I desperately needed to put in a lifeline (having
learned OH-SO-MANY-TIMES the hard way!)...but I didn't have cotton yarn at the time that was thin enough.I had been told that using cotton would minimize any discoloration. (I am using thin white cotton yarn on 4-0 needles for the main project itself). So I have a bit of residue in blue after pulling out the lifeline. Also, the yarn STILL wasn't as fine as what I knitted with, so the stitches are a bit bigger or something, I dunno---so you see a line where the 2 different lifelines were. How can I fix this? This is a doll sweater I am giving away to a gal who has very specific ideas about what she wants for this outfit, and I don't want to disappoint her. Ugh. HELP! I guess I'm too impulsive and just wanted to get along with this pattern that has dragged on too long already. Sigh. Wendy A Knitting Fool in CT |

Blocking cures a lot of problems. "Scour" in the context of knitting typically means "throw it in the basin with hot water and wash it out thoroughly". Thanks! Will try that. |
