I started this month with a LOT of ideas, but most of them reimained
just... ideas.

Well, I crocheted 2 squares for a secret project, some snowflakes, a
bookmark and a fan. Maybe IŽm forgetting something, but itŽs something
little anyway...

The fan is going to be decorated with paper yarn flowers. It was
intended as a birthday present for a friend, but I had no time for
finishing it with flowers and sheŽll get a orchid plant instead
tomorrow. Maybe sheŽll get that for Christmas...

Hugs,

Anna Maria

I don't know what's happening, my FOs are getting shorter, and my WIP's
correspondingly larger! (I can hardly believe it's November already!)

FOs for October:

Two "helmet" head coverings from Knitters Magazine pattern
The chevron shadow shawl
Two Peaches & Cream dishcloths
6x6 squares
A Splash & Fizz scarf (gift for a friend)

WIPs:
A man's guernsey sweater that I suspect is going to take me a couple years
to finish since it's fairly detailed (diamonds and moss stitches and cables)
and it's a size Large-Tall (I have to start dating shorter guys if I'm
going to make them sweaters)
A horseshoe cable mohair sweater (for me)
The cobweb shawl from Noreen's pattern
6x6 squares
A seed-stitch vest out of Jasmine wool yarn that I am trying to hack
together without a pattern
Mittens (thank you Nora for the patterns!)

October was a disaster here for FOs as I am helping a friend with a campaign
for city council and it has gotten very intense. The voting happens next
Tuesday and I will be very relieved. Around the edges I have been working on a
sweater for the almost 2 grand daughter that is from a recent Dale book -- the
one with a zebra on the front that is on the cover of the pattern book in
question. I have started on the second sleeve, so there isn't a whole lot left
to do. My shawl is still sitting there patiently waiting - it takes focused
attention which I haven't been able to give it lately. Not much else underway
- just a guilty feeling about approaching holidays and birthdays with nothing
on the needles yet.

My list is pitiful this month....
so....
I'll just fudge it.

FO's for October...
4 6X6" squares (2 for October and 2 for November)
I finished the knitting of a tie for DH, and now have to figure out a
way to close the wide opening

How about all those frogged gauge attempts and the hat I was knitting
yesterday? Do they count at FO's? ;-)

WIP's...
a scarf/belt for DD#2 out of Berroco Mosaic FX
the never ending sweater for DS

No FO's, again. Still working on the fuzzy white cardigan for DD, nearly
up to the neck now. The arms are attached, so after the neck is complete, I
will only need to sew buttons on and weave in the ends. Perhaps it will be
a Nov. FO.
WIP: I started the knitted doily for MIL, will try to finish it before
Christmas.

I read that as "There was fudge for Halloween."

October was about leaning to dye, with 11 skeins dyed and ready to knit.

Current WIP is a sampler of Norse, Shetland, and Icelandic 2-color
patterns. I got "Traditional Knitting" and "Knitting in the Nordic
Tradition" out of the library with the intention of Xeroxing the charts.
Then I thought, I will know them better if I manually chart them on to graph
paper, so I did a few. Then I thought, that I could just knit up (no purl)
a sampler, and learn them even better. My sampler is a tube, and is going
faster than I expected.
