Default Maureen in Vancouver

Might I suggest we all take up a collection to replace the stolen money
and send it to Pat's daughter, care of Pat? Anyone who wants to, please
e-mail me, and I can either convert it to pounds sterling, or we could
all send to Pat separately?

Maureen In Vancouver, B.C.

Maureen, I have tried to send an email, but it said...well I can't send it to
you. Will you email me at 0 remove the zero at the end or it
will bounce.

Thanks,
Victoria

Hey, Maureen - my oldest grandson will be in Vancouver for a year (changed
his mind from Montreal). He gets to Toronto next week. Any tips or
warnings for Vancouver that might be useful for him to know, please?

Hi Pat,

Well, you could tell him to stay away from Davie Street and don't go out
at night. If he has a wallet, chain it into his pocket or it will
probably be lifted. I guess it's much the same in any big city. When he
gets to Toronto, he'll probably want to stay away from Young Street too!
I've also sent you an e-mail regarding his stay in Vancouver. How
old is your grandson?

East Hastings Street is a good one to avoid too!
Jeanine in Canada (well, okay, a suburb of Vancouver)

Thanks people - I`m forwarding all these pieces of good advice to Mark! He
leaves here the day after tomorrow - two nights in Toronto, then off to
Vancouver looking for work.

Well, that did cross my mind, Gill, but maybe he doesn`t take after his
grandmother to that extent!

He was laughing to his Mum today, as he`d been telling her that I`d found
him a contact in Vancouver over the internet and his friend said "Good God -
is your Nan computer literate?!!!" LOL!

That's a scary thought!! It cracks me up that we old fogies are supposed to
be watching "I Love Lucy" reruns, while crocheting pineapple doileys, and
maybe wearing them on our heads!!

Hi Pat,

Can I ask why he's coming to Vancouver? And how old is he? Vancouver
is a huge city, and it's not all that easy to find a good job, it's
also very expensive to live there.

take care, Linda
(who lives on Vancouver Island...across the pond from Vancouver)

ROFL!

My friends always used to laugh at my being able to find some
friend-of-a-friend everywhere I went, until one of them had an urgent need
while out of town and called me to ask "who do you know here?" Yes, I can get
you the name of a reputable garage/doctor/lawyer/dentist; just give me a few
minutes to make some calls.

God forbid I should ever have to use it, but I rarely go on vacation without
the name and phone number of someone in the area. If the airlines go on
strike, I'll have a couch to crash on for a few nights.
