I have used the old 'Free Agent' newsreader from
http://free-agent.en.softonic.com/ for many years.
There are no bells and whistles and it is so simple to start and keep
using. Posts can be kept or deleted 1 by 1 or by threads.

I get a free newscast from eternal-september.org thanks to Jeanne for
recommending it.

Well, I think I've managed to get away from google. I am now reading
and hopefully posting through a newsreader using windows live mail.
Thanks to Jeanne and DH, it looks like I'm up and running again!.
Hopefully now when I have a question I won't need to post 17 times!

i now have 4 free news servers set up in OE. eternal-sept is the only one
you need to register for. the rest you just input the right settings and
you're away laughing.
news.aioe.org
news.albasani.net
202.177.16.121
those three servers all work. good to have a backup when one is down for
maintence or if perhaps one of the many servers enroute from you to me or me
to anyone along the way thru cyberspace is down and the link has to reroute
or wont work til the usual route is up and running again.
this is posted from eternal-september.org
i'll repost from the other three to test it. tho one of those might be down
now. ya just never know.
