Default Quilting Now?

I've got 4 quilts on the go atm. 3 are being pieced, 2 are jelly roll 1
is a 4" sampler quilt (similar to a Dear Jane, but no applique and in
brights) My 4th quilt is a cot sized strippy, mostly I've been quilting
it whilst watching my kids run round the local park/playground.

I am making a scaled down version of my quilting group's next show's
raffle quilt . I am using the same fabric, and it will be about a
quarter size. I thought it would be helpful for advance advertising and
information - especially so that the group themselves, who will be
making the quilt, will be able to see a finished version before they
start making the blocks. My blocks are 2", the large one will have 7"
ones. The fabrics are a collection of lovely batiks. It is only going
slowly, as 'things' keep interrupting; but I've broken the back of the
121 little blocks.

I have a jungle symphony on the design wall: lions and tigers and
bears. An elephant, 3 zebras and all manner of kangaroo spots and
jungle greenery. The arrangement was just much too 'expected' so I
tossed in the Easter Bunny.
Ah. just right.
And I wondered what my friends here were stitching. planning?
stomping and setting on fire?
It's time for county fairs; anyone entering? And probably time to
get going on any sort of Christmas tree skirt or stocking. So. Roll
Call. What'cha doin' ? Polly

Polly your jungle quilt sounds cute. It's only 4 more weeks before we go to
Florida for the winter, and I will finish packing the last week. So that
gives me just 3 weeks to do some Christmas sewing for my son and family here
in SC. After I get to Florida I will be sewing for Christmas down there.

Hi Polly,
I'm doing the "Over the River and Through the Woods" quilt. I have a
small amount of embroidery to finish and then start to put the blocks
together. I
have been working on this quilt forever, it's nice to finally see the
end in sight!

Rail fence baby quilt. If all goes well and I can find my stencil and pounch
marker and no other "emergancies" happen and I can get some free time next
Saturday and Sunday I'll be ready to mark and baste.

Home dec? Now there's a project I need to get going on. There's quite a
collection of wooden spools of thread and a few smaller ones that contained
silk button hole twist here. I've thought of getting a lamp with an empty
base usually for filling with sea shells and putting the special old wooden
things in it.
It also crosses my mind that a lamp shade of quilt blocks might be fun.
Any body tried it? Polly

Never tried it, but I bet it would be pretty stunning!

Mercury in retrograde plus full moon - a time of high energy and
little sleep for me.

Ah, that must be why I got such a bee in my bonnet this weekend to
finish these baby quilts! One done, bound and washed, ready to be
gifted nesxt week. Second one tied, binding made, ready to be pinnned
down and sewn on [finish is hand-stiched to the back], Third one top
is done, ready to get backing and batting leyered for tieing. Then on
to deciding what I want to do for the first mini for my courtroom.
Thinking a Moon Over the Mountain in 3" or 4" finished blocks.

Mercury is retrograde right now which has little meaning to most people but
it is a great time to finish things. *For the next 3 or 4 weeks go into a

hope to finish up my tumblers quilt in the next few weeks too.
Except for our stellar finisher RM most of us have plenty of UFO's.
*Your jungle symphony sounds quite fun. *I just hope the lion doesn't eat
the bunny!

Good question! I am thinking about finishing/machine quilting two
laps that need to be done in 3 weeks - just keep avoiding them. I've
got a tiny paper-pieced "September" wall hanging to border and quilt,
and I embroidered a little on a tiny Halloween wall hanging last night
that is nearly ready for borders. I plan to go to the fair tomorrow
to look at the quilts and have reservations to go to Penn. for a quilt
show next month.

The quilt for my almost-4 granddaughter's big bed. It's a "sister" to
her older sister's quilt. I've got the piano-key border left -- then the
machine quilting. Hope to have it done for her birthday Labor Day weekend.
