Same here, and I killed myself trying to purl "forwards" while picking
instead of throwing. For some reason I found it almost impossible, I
finally gave up, now I do it the way it's comfortable so my knit stitches
hang forwards and my purls hang backwards, I just am careful to insert the
needle appropriatly on the next row so make them come out right.
