Default Oh my ... craft show exhaustion

I, of course, procrastinated in getting ready for the craft show and ended up working madly to get bindings stitched down and buttons stitched on the past week. I took 11 little arty quilts and three journal covers. Everybody who came by picked up the journal covers and said 'Oh wow, these are great!' and put them down. But the little quilts sold, 9 of them. Well, one I bartered for a gorgeous piece of stained glass and two others I bartered for half cash value and four hair cuts plus those amazing feather things people are weaving into their hair. What a hoot. I forgot to take photos of the quilts. Whatever. I did not think they'd sell -- they were all very small ( 20 x 20 inches was by far the largest) and they sold for $40 and $45 each.

I'm exhausted. My work room looks like a wild animal was in here throwing things around, swearing, stumbling over piles of things and strewing fabric and gadgets and thread all over .... oh, wait. That was me. Never mind.

But it feels really good to have sold some things. I got many compliments. One young woman (in her 20s) picked up one of my tiny quilts (about 10" x 12") and started to cry a bit. She paid for it, hugged me and told me she had never seen anything that went straight to her heart. (Polly, it was a free- motion tree with a Psalm's verse under it ... I swear I made it thinking of you.)

I am happy and tired and ate too much craft show food (wow, some folks can bake like crazy) and I wouldn't do it again before next Christmas for anything. But I am going to open an Etsy shop. Just as soon as I get a few more things made.

It's so wonderful when people cry over your work! And always a
surprise when what you thought would sell doesn't, or vice versa.
Congratulations!
Roberta in D, take pictures next time!

How exciting/exhausting/exhilarating. What a joy and honor to bring
someone to tears.
