We don't know how good we have until water or hydro supplies are cut
off. With the winter coming soon, we will have our candels and
flashlichts out and handy as well. There are always a couple of times
that we will be without hydro.

We seem to have several blackouts each year, so we always have lots of
batteries on hand. We don't use candles much, since the cats get too
curious around them and I hate un-shaded eye-level light. If I ever had to
resort to candles for long, I'd have sconces and such, but I don't.

Good that you have a back up....maybe that is what we should have as well,
in case of an earthquake.

We never thought when we got into camper camping that it would be so useful
at home! As for earthquakes, my folks out in Simi Valley had to move out of
their home after one and lived in their camper for a couple of weeks, then
sold it to some neighbors who were out of their house for longer, for more
extensive renovations.

I'll give it a shot. Need DH and his laptop to offload pictures from the
camera, though. No such port on my computer.

Anyway it's square, with a smooth, flat top, rounded over edges all the

way
round and an oval, hand-size slot in the middle to pick it up by. It has 4
legs and cross braces all the way round, but is short, single-step height.
That's why I'm thinking of extending the legs just a tad, possibly with
bits of PVC pipe or a milk crate, to get it to perfect working height. It
was at the back of the furniture department, next to the bar stools,

facing
the main rear aisle which is how I spotted it. I wasn't even looking at
furniture. The label says AIM Corp, North Charleston, SC 29405 copyright
2003. Must be the label, because this is really a classic step stool
pattern. We had one like it when I was a kid. It also says it's Made in
Thailand. And searching on the company name comes up empty, even on Yahoo
Yellow Pages.

I had a look at Wal-Mart in St. John's, but found nothing remotely
resembling that. :-(

Well, phooey. Maybe they don't come in to all the Walmarts at the same
time?

Well, you ARE in the States. Maybe we will get it in Canada next summer.
Remind me than, and I'll have a look in Halifax.

Always assuming that said "sturdy step stool" proves to be good for
braiding after all. If not, well I'm short enough to want a step stool in
nearly every room, anyway, and this one is prettier than the plastic ones.
