DH has large hands. He sewed all his own Scout patches on as a lad.
Son James (now 11) is quite good with a machine, but a reluctant hand
sewist. I want to get him to a reasonable standard before he gives up!
DH's father made his own trousers for many years: he's a large-handed
engineer. Large hands are no bar to sewing. Fine motor control is more
important than size.

Mike, does the child whose badges and patches these are have smaller hands
than you?
