FAbric Shops in Columbus Ohio
There are a couple of shops in the Columbus area...
1) the Glass Thimble -- on North High St (just north of OSU and Riverside Hospital). In an old home (actually 2 buildings joined together). Lots of fabric... 3434 N High St (on the northeast corner at the intersection of High St. and E. North Broadway 2) Quilt Beginnings -- has two shops -- the larger of the two is on East Broad St. between James and Hamilton (closer to James -- south side of street) 3409 E Broad St the other is in northwest Columbus -- on Sawmill Rd. -- just south of Sawmill and 270 -- on the west side of the street. This shop is about 1 year old -- and while it has a lot of stuff --the other store has more. 6689 Sawmill Rd, Dublin, 3) I don't remember the name -- but there is another shop in Dublin -- between 270 and the river. It's down a little side street about 1 block east of the big shopping center with the Kroger in it. I think there is a gas station on the corner. It's down the block on the east side of the street. This is a small shop -- and I've only been there once or twice. They seem to carry more homespuns and "country" type fabrics. 4) Quilt Pox -- this used to be on Lattimer in Hilliard but they sold it ... then decided to reopen another shop. There is still a shop in Hilliard at the Lattimer St.. location -- but I haven't been there since it changed hands. 3876 Lattimer St They moved to Mill Run -- which is just off Fishinger Rd. -- west of the Scioto River. That is a pretty commercial area... it's in a strip shopping center -- not to far from a Lowes or Home Depot or something like that. I've not been there since they reopened. There are other shops around that I've never been to. These include one in Grove City (about 15 minutes southwest of Columbus), one downtown, one in Westerville. Forever Quilts is in Delaware -- north of Columbus on US 23. (13.9 miles away) 57 N Sandusky St Delaware, OH Hopefully Gen will see this post (she lives outside of Columbus) and can fill in my blanks! Happy shopping! Denny -- it just clicked that it was you! DUH!
Having one of those days! So you'll probably be going in on US 33 -- so the shops in Dublin (will be really easy to hit.) The one on North High isn't too far either. If you want specific directions -- I can get you those too! At least for the shops I'm familiar with. Safe travels! Well, I stopped at the Glass Thimble and one of the Quilt Beginnings
stores. Just looking for a fq of a design for a postcard swap. Bought 5 yards of different fabric. I hate how that happens : ) (I can make a lot of postcards) -- Denny in Fort Wayne http://community.webshots.com/user/kiteflyer54 /\ / \ / \ \ / \ / \/ \ \ / \ \ / \ |
