Default A public Thank You.

I posted last week about trying to match some green thread. I knew it was
good thread; either DMC or Anchor. Many years ago, I bought the book of
sample DMC threads. What I forgot was that it was dated 1991, and DMC
has added many new colors since then. It did not match any of the old
colors, so I assumed it was Anchor.

I asked for help from rctners, and a sincere public thanks for all who
offered to help. Fred lives in Winnipeg, so I sent him a sample. He
identified the color as DMC 3810; not in my sample book. So off to
Michaels, and the match is not quite perfect. But I bought two skeins,
and I can use the old trick of using one strand from the new floss, and
one from the old, until I run out of the old, I am sure no-one will see
anything at all.

So my very sincere thanks to Fred, and all the others who offered help. Jim.

Is 3810 one of the colors that DMC has tweaked over the years? And would an
older skein of 3810 match? I have tons and tons of older DMC in the black
hole I call my craft closet, most of which probably does go back to the
early 90's. I don't know for sure I have any anymore, but my guess is yes I
do since I know at one time I owned several full sets of DMC. If you'd
like I can dig it out for you.

Thanks Jinx, but the match is good enough. Jim.
