I am glad I found this group
"nzlstar*" wrote in message ... i guess after 30 yrs here where we have no dangerous animals, no bears, no snakes, no gators, no crocs, only one spider i'm aware that might cause ya some annoyance if it bit ya, no wild cats, i'm just not overly fond of the idea of gators (having read the damage the crocs do in oz, those two are the same in my book) in/near/around anywhere i might wanna be or wanna go. nope, nada, no thanks all the same, ttfn, so long, good bye folks, thats all she wrote, jeanne Yeesh, that reminds me ... about 6 years ago, my sweet Buddy (part Black Lab, part chicken), the same dog who's terrified of plastic bags and eraser tips on pencils (no joke) actually treed a WATER MOCASSIN under a car. Those b*****ds are the deadliest critter we have! My goofy booger was actually trying to PLAY with the durn thing. It took all my strength (he weighs about 80lbs) to pull that goober away from the snake! And only a month ago did I find (and step on - euug) a spider about the size of my big toe in the garage. The durn thing went "squoosh" right under my instep and that area on my foot burned for DAYS. I still can't go into the garage without my foot stingin'. And how did hubby decorate our porch for Halloweenie this year? Our entire front porch is a giant spiderweb, of course. He's trying to kill me, I know. Next to that damned spider, a gator, in my mind, tain't nothin'. --- Connie "SewVeryCreative"... Aww ... gators aren't so bad ('specially lightly battered and fried). Now, that's because I've been told for ages that they really won't chase you on land (too slow? too lazy?).They even tried to get a gator to chase'em on "Mythbuster" - and not a single one bothered itself to move an inch. It's in the water itself that you have to worry. 'Bout two years ago, we had a pesky gator that came ashore on the beach (believe it or not!) and he haunted a few tourist traps for 'bout a month, scarin' the bejeesus out of everyone, making the local papers, and just causing a horrible nuisance .... and then just "disappeared" (he was awfully tasty with a bit of Crystal's). I see Miz Polly as bein' smarter and cleverer than an ol' gator. If she decided that they were a problem, I'd see her as bein' more threat to them than they to her. I could see Miz Polly convincin' them that they ought to take a vacation to the Mojave desert if'n she put her mind to it! --- Connie "nzlstar*" wrote... but what about those gators? they skeer me to bits and then some. eeeeeek!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Polly Esther" wrote.... You are very safe with me, dear Jeanne. Trust me. Polly "nzlstar*" wrote... you in particular, Polly, are one of those i'm not too sure is safe, having those gators is a worry. hey! how come ya want me to think that??? worried in the south pacific, jeanne "Polly Esther" wrote... Yeah, Jeanne, right. That's just what we want you to think. Polly "nzlstar*" wrote, in part i think most of you are safe, lol. |

Connie, you are just the person the Mississippi Wildlife and Game Commission
has been looking for for years. They sorely need somebody to come inventory those harmless lazy gators out there. We could check on salary and benefits for you. I don't think they've ever needed a retirement plan. Polly "SewVeryCreative" wrote, in part Aww ... gators aren't so bad ('specially lightly battered and fried). Polly Are you kiddin' me? Even *I* can't eat THAT much gator meat! But I sure would love tryin' ... kind of feels ... neat ... to eat a predator and give those poor cows, pigs and lambs a break! But really, we've got enough gators here in FL ... we went to hubby's home stompin' grounds about a year ago (near the Glades) ... and I was shocked at how many we came across on the beaten paths. Maybe ya'lls are meaner, though ... ours are damned lazy and slow. If I had a nickel for every time that I had to sit and wait for one to cross a road, I'd own my own fabric company!! Or maybe ours are ya'lls on vacation - maybe instead of bein' lazy they're too busy looking for girl and drinking $5 beer. : / --- Connie "SewVeryCreative" wrote, in part Aww ... gators aren't so bad ('specially lightly battered and fried).
