Default horse hair raku

i have an opportunity to do a raku firing with a friend and i would like to
do some firing with hair, pig hair to be exact. My pet pot belly junior has
graciously donated some for me to try.
Do I need to do anything special? any advice would be much appreciated

Hi thepubguy,
I have only done it with horse's hair but I would think Junior's hair
would work. The only thing I could recommend is to apply it to the hot
pot with something other than your fingers, like tweezers. I've never
seen a pig's hair but I can imagine it is shorter than the horse hair
used in raku. You could really burn your fingers with the short hair.
I would also recommend applying only one or two hairs at a time because
if you just put a bunch on the pot at one time, you'll end up with a
big black spot. Good luck.
