Daisy Chain Questions
I recently tried a simple daisy chain bracelet and really like the results.
I've gathered lots of seed beads (and my LBS has a 20% sale tomorrow) so I was wondering if you all knew of a book or web site that has alternatives that are similar to the daisy chain. I've already thought of trying to double the chain and some other ideas, but as I'm timid would like to see other patterns to try from experts. Also, does anyone have finished work that I could oogle at? Thanks a bunch, Wendy |

Everyone here is a major show-off on a regular basis. ) And if you want even *more* inspirations, there are, I dunno, *dozens* of beading magazines you can subscribe to. The Bead & Button Magazine website (http://www.beadandbutton.com) just happens to have an online exclusive pattern featuring daisy chains, which is really quite fantasic. As for myself, I've parked my beady gallery at: http://www.angelfire.com/folk/arondelle/index.html Good luck, have fun, and welcome! Seems to me the Horace Goodhue classic has some variations on daisy
chain. http://www.reedsweb.com/beadcraft/ Deirdre On Thu, 14 Aug 2003 14:03:27 -0400, "Maeven" wrote: I recently tried a simple daisy chain bracelet and really like the results. Also, does anyone have finished work that I could oogle at? I LOVE daisy chains! There was an article in B&B a few moths ago about daisy chains, and variations on them. I haven't checked any of the links folks posted, but maybe this is online. I like to use size ?11 (medium) seed beads with 5mm glass pearls. Teal AB lustred clear with white looks *incredible*, as does clear silverlined with white. Ditto Montana Blue silverlined (one of my FAV seed bead colours) + white or light grey. I want to make small (size 15?) "sunflower", "daisy" and "poppy" chains (already have one sunflower one and it looks really cute), but I don't know how to do the variation with "leaves". I think I'll have to explore some of the links posted.... There is also a site (which I can't find the bloody link for!!!!) where the person gives instructions for a "wave pattern" chain - based on the daisy chain - where half the "petal "curve" is reversed so you end up with a zig-zag pattern. I make it with metallic AB lustre seed beads (bronze, blue, purple and green mixed) size 6 and 11 (I think - I think of them as "large" "medium" and "small") and they look *incredible*. I'm about to make one using Montana Blue silverlined :P ~~~~~~ LOVE LOVE LOVE daisy chains.... |
