Hi all,

Does anyone know if, I want to use Buzz Tools or Embird with my new
Ultimate Box. Do I need any additional software to make it compatible
with The Ultimate Box?????

You don't *need* anything else but the software that came with the box in
order to transfer designs from your computer to your memory card. But
Embird is a great program and I use it to resize, alter, or combine designs
that I save on my computer and then transfer to the Ultimate Box.

Iris

Thanks for the Info, Iris

Yes, but I had heard about it at another forum.
Embird's free software is just a trial? right?

No, reply?
I'm looking for free software!

Did it occur to you that there may not be any?

Guess this thread has gone full circle, because, despite the fact that my
name was in the subject line, I haven't been involved in it for some time!!!
But here I am again.

Yes, Embird is only a trial. But it is reasonably priced and well worth it.
It allows you to work with designs, combine them, split them, etc. It
doesn't digitize, except for a very rudimentary option in the new version.
I'm not sure what that's supposed to accomplish, as I haven't had time to
work with it a lot.

That said, I'm not too happy with Embird right now. It took them almost a
week to send me the password for the upgrade, and then I found that they did
not send the password for the Iconizer, which I also bought. The Iconizer,
in case you're interested, will put pictures of the designs into Windows
Explorer to make it easier to sort your designs. Because, believe me, you
will have designs, lots of them.

As far as free software, try
http://www.joachim-riedel.de/freeware/index.html One of his programs is
useful to sort your designs too, and I am using it. Have you posted at
alt.sewing.mach-embroider? That is the best place to get info on machine
embroidery. That and http://www.sewforum.com/ which deals with embird
and embroidery issues.
