pulled handles
Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know if there is an advantage to pulling the handle from the pot as opposed to pulling a handle separately and then attaching it to the pot? Thanks, Sandi |

Thanks, Sandi As far as I know, it's just a matter of personal preference. Some pots need a pulled handle, some need a strap handle, some need some other kind of handle. The handles that are pulled off the pot are kind of fluid looking, while some of the other handles are more constructed or "architectural" looking. As long as they're all attached properly, it shouldn't be a matter of strength or structure. Deb R. |

Yeah, I think it just gives the handle a more organic feel - as if it's
sprouting from the pot rather than an appendage. Simon "sandi" wrote in message om... Hello Everyone, Does anyone know if there is an advantage to pulling the handle from the pot as opposed to pulling a handle separately and then attaching it to the pot? Thanks, Sandi |

You can actually attached fully pulled handles that still have that organic
feel. You just have to make sure that the attached part is thick enough that you are then working the handle back into the pot. That is you use your thumb to pull the clay from the handle back into the mug much as you would if you were pulling the handle from the mug... hard to discribe but it does give a flowing feel of from mug to handle. Just a note. DKat wrote in message . .. Yeah, I think it just gives the handle a more organic feel - as if it's sprouting from the pot rather than an appendage. Simon "sandi" wrote in message om...
