Default Difference between Yarn Over and Yarn Forward

Can someone please explain the different between these two procedures?

If anyone knows of a site which contains a video of the Yarn Forward
procedure that would help a lot as I understand fully what a Yarn Over
is.

Thanks so much for your help.

YF is used if the following stitch is a knit stitch. YO is used if the
following stitch is a purl stitch.
For example, K2tog, YF. This brings the yarn into position to create a
stitch to make up for the one you are decreasing with the K2tog.
P2tog, YO wraps the yarn around the needle, again for
the purpose of creating the stitch that is decreased when you P2tog and puts
the yarn in the proper place of the next purl stitch.

Default Difference between Yarn Over and Yarn Forward

Here are two videos on Yarn Over:
How to Work a Forward Yarn Over
http://www.dnt-inc.com/barhtmls/knit/YOF.html

How to Work a Backward Yarn Over
http://www.dnt-inc.com/barhtmls/knit/YOB.html

I don't have any video for Yarn Forward,
but if you watch this photo, the person knit a continental purl, and do
a Yarn forward, so you can see what it is.

IF you want more videos, you find them he

http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/basic_techniques/
This is the strtpage for basic tecniques. If you click the flap "basic"
at the top of the side, you can choose what you need. many tecniques are
shown in continental AND english version, if the two differs.

Here is the page they call "advanced tecniques"
http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting...ed_techniques/

And here are two more very good video sites:
http://www.dnt-inc.com/barhtmls/knittech.html

http://www.knittingatnoon.com/demos.html

Good luck!

You are very welcome. This is the one technique in knitting that was the
most difficult for me to grasp. None of the instructions that I read made
any sense to me until I found YRN (yarn around needle) in a British pattern.
