tambour embroidery frame

there used to be a site with a handmade tambour or slate frame (for
larger embroidery or beading pieces) online and I have not been able
to find it. However, I would be interested in any group of individuals
who also are presently working with tambour work, particularly lace or
beadwork, and would appreciate pointers both to the group and if I'm
lucky, the frame instructions.

Are you specifically looking for a nice wooden frame or will a plastic
one suit your needs? Clover has a line of tambour supplies (they call
it something else which escapes recall right now). I've seen the
supplies in Hancock's and Jo-Ann's.
