Anyone want to knit along with me?
Just wondering if there is anyone else that might be interested in ordering the Moon Garden Cardigan pattern and knitting along with me? Please? Really...I only scored a "Knit Novice" on the quiz! and now I'm suppose to read a chart? ACK! Let me know...I'm thinking of going to buy the yarn for the waistband and cuffs today. /J -- ASC: Born to Herf '05: http://www.geocities.com/borntoherf/sponsors.htm RCTY F.O.s: http://tinyurl.com/64dq5 Moon Garden Blog: http://moongarden.tblog.com/ Two things fill the mind with ever new and increasing wonder and awe - the starry heavens above me and the moral law within me. - Immanuel Kant |

Hi Jenn,
Since I don't knit now I can't do it, but I loved doing charted sweaters. I don't think there is a charted Mary Maxim sweater that I didn't make. I enjoyed doing that more then just a plain one color sweater. Hugs, Nora |

Actually I did two color knitting quite early in my knitting life (in
the 1950's for nieces and nephews) so don't hesitate. There is only one tricky part and that is to pay attention to how you bring in the new color so that there isn't a gap created. Does the pattern have you carry the second color or use different balls of color as you go? It looks from the picture like it is probably the later (intarsia style) which I find the easiest. You just want to make sure that the different color yarns wrap around each other once at the joint so that it looks like a continuous fabric. (Someone else can probably describe it better) Otherwise this kind of knitting is really easy because other than color changes, the patterns are usually basically just a simple stockinette. |
