About colors
Hi again!
Has any of you done like this: You have a canvas (pre-printed or not, it is not important here). You should stitch it. But the problem is the canvas is..let's say light brown, and you have only...let's say gray yarn. The image you should stitch is few roses. Yellow roses. Could it work? I mean: the background canvas is not white, it's brown, but you must stitch it with gray. Could it be possible? Or should the stitcher think something else? With pink roses it might work...or...? I think you have more experience of this than myself. Of course I have stitched with natural white yarn, when the canvas itself has been snow white. Best: Pirjo |

This happens to me with printed canvas too--especially when you want to stitch, and don't have all the colours called for. One thing that some people here do when they are changing the colour of something--some thread, a background fabric or whatever, is just to get the other threads together, and put the one you are thinking of using among them. If the effect is pleasing to you, then there is no reason you cannot make the change Dawne |

Best: Pirjo Your yarn will cover the color of the canvas as long as you don't pull the stitches so tight that you actually see the canvas threads. If you want to be sure your yarn will cover the canvas color well you can stitch a little square in one corner of the canvas. I expect you will be happy with the results. I've stitched pale blue yarn on a medium brown needlepoint canvas and it looked just fine. Debra in VA |
