He's starting in September, as we've made a commitment to stay in the area, we've put down roots and put up a shed, you can't get much more committed than that so we've enrolled him in a local school. He's five and will be in Year 1, it's a good thing for him to be able to be around kids his age on a regular basis, when he's older he can decide if he wants self-education but for now he gets to just be one of the kids. I had a pink vinyl pencil case, I loved that thing till it finally fell apart. You always hurt the ones you love, don't you... (G) -Su Well, I have no kids - but I figure they might be like puppies and need some socialising in the early years ;-) So a pink vinyl case eh? I think that was the material my green one was made of actually. Yes, these things stick. I will never forget evil Mrs Billington and her scathing remarks. Emma |

I blush to admit that in fourth grade, I was asked to never darken the doors of St. Mary's of Elm Grove for hitting a nun. She asked for it, if you want to know the truth, and I am glad it did it! It had nothing to do with my pink vinyl pencil case, though. -Su |

They asked me to leave after 3 weeks. So - back to Kilney did it come? Did it come?? Been itching to ask you! I didnt get around to phoning and hassling Richard today - but will do tommorrow. Thinks he can get around me by sending me out free samples of Aventurine and upgrading my bead mashers does he?? humpf - we'll see ;-) Emma |

It was not pretty, but it was necessary. I'm now a lapsed Catholic but I still remember those days with unremitting horror. So - back to Kilney did it come? Did it come?? Yup. I promised Richard I wouldn't tease you! He said he fell asleep last night before he could call you. I didnt get around to phoning and hassling Richard today - but will do tommorrow. That's it, make sure to start off his weekend with a bang! Thinks he can get around me by sending me out free samples of Aventurine and upgrading my bead mashers does he?? humpf - we'll see ;-) HUMPF! I didn't get any samples. *sulking* I relieved my kiln envy by ordering more beads. :-D I have to say that trying to choose which Delica beads to start out with has been horrible! I don't have a sample card, and can't find anywhere in the UK to buy a set, so I've been flying blind. I have more whining to do on the topic of Delica beads, but I'll save that for another thread. After all we DO have our kiln and you're still in limbo! -Su |

Can't be much help on the delicas - I have always been too trashy to buy such posh seed beads I seem to remember though that if all else fails - the Covent Garden bead shop catalgue photography is pretty good and I think they have a page with them on. Might be better than nowt. Mind you, you need a small mortgage to afford the catalogues these days. Good quality bead porn though - quite worth it really ;-) Emma |

I don't mind but himself might object. :-) Can't be much help on the delicas - I have always been too trashy to buy such posh seed beads I seem to remember though that if all else fails - the Covent Garden bead shop catalgue photography is pretty good and I think they have a page with them on. Might be better than nowt. I've had a look at their site and a number of others, it's just deciding which beads to start with. I know my embroidery threads by heart so they're no problem, but Delica beads are uncharted territory so I'm flying blind. There's really not even a shop close with a selection of them I could look at. And buy. :-) Mind you, you need a small mortgage to afford the catalogues these days. I have the Rishashay catalogue, which turned into bead porn for my neighbor, she didn't want to give it back! -Su |

If I hear of any places to get them, I will let you know. I am pretty used to never being able to find a LBS etc - but coming from America - you must have been spoilt when it comes to bead stores and bead availability! What a culture shock! Regarding Kilney - I knew that a good ole-fashioned, low-as-a-snake's-belly internet whispering campaign would do the trick! Richard has now emailed me the info and I am gonna place an order today - yey. Emma |

Are you getting the Caldera as well? It's a great kiln.

I am pretty used to never being able to find a LBS etc - but coming from America - you must have been spoilt when it comes to bead stores and bead availability! What a culture shock! Thanks. It was a culture shock at first, the thing I really still can't get to grips with is shopping hours and availability of what I used to think were simple things. Regarding Kilney - I knew that a good ole-fashioned, low-as-a-snake's-belly internet whispering campaign would do the trick! Richard has now emailed me the info and I am gonna place an order today - yey. Yaaaaayyyyyyyyy! We could visit and have the kilns meet each other. No, that's silly! The kilns can stay at home and work! Glad you're getting yours soon, ours is now being set up in its own happy corner with leftover tiles from the bathroom for an elegant tile surround in deep cobalt 1" square tiles. -Su |
