Thanks, Tina...

Thanks for your nice comments about my site. Yep, I just put up
thumbnails that link to the big pics. And I even kept the big pics
rather small (less than 100K) by using the "Save For Web" option in
Adobe Elements.

My site gets enough traffic now that bandwidth was becoming an issue.
Can you believe it?????

I've tried to make my "Latest Work" page as friendly and interactive
as I can. I post periodically during a studio session so visitors will
be able to tap into the excitement of the moment as I work. I love
that sense of immediacy.

I still think I need to set up a TinkCam. Maybe when I get home from
Pittsburgh.

Hi Tink,

Folk remedies for a burn like that. Burnt onions applied to the burn are
supposed to help, but I've never done that. Both Vit C and garlic will help
carry away bad stuff. Vit E and arnica promote healing.

Your new opening page is very clean and easy. And your pages are loading
fast enough that all the pictures are showing up. Did you put just the
thumbnails up with bigger pictures in the links? I'm so glad to see them!!

And beautiful work.

Welcome home.

Well that's no surprise! I sent you 17 of my glow-in-the-dark henchmen! They
were probably muttering threats as you torched. ;-)

It's so amazing! I remember the Tink who said, "A friend came over last night
and we did this glass-melting stuff in the dining room....I think I'm hooked!"
Haw!

BTW -- that vessels page is TDF. Gaaawww!! KLUNK

I think that's the name of the medicine got for my wolf's paw. Does it

Ouch!

Congratulations, you're official now. G (I won't shake hands, I'm not

that
mean.)

Keep it moist and cool for 24 hours. Then just keep it moist, and covered.
Don't break the blister, watch for any signs of infection like non-local
swelling or streaky redness. Most burns won't infect unless you mess with
them or they get dirty externally. I've had a couple baddies and just did
the moist & covered thing and they were fine. In about a week you can use
lavender oil and vitamin E to help the healing (they both seem to prevent
scarring). If you get any sharp pain, get thee to a doctor. I'd go see

your
family doc whenever you can get in, just for prevention, but the ER really
shouldn't be necessary.

Oh, and if you can, get a scrip for SSD ointment. (1% silver sulfadiazine
cream) It's WONDERFUL stuff.

Only if he had a candida infection. G That's what gentian violet is used
for, anyway (along with using it as a cell stain for certain blood smear
slides).

SSD is called Silvadene, too. It's a kickass topical antibacterial. But it's
not purple. It's sort of a fluffy white ointment. Reminds me vaguely of
marshmallow creme. (I know, I'm weird.)

weeks after I get back, I head off for two and a half weeks at
Penland. A month later, it's the Art Glass Invitational. I am so
excited about these experiences that I can't stand it!

sigh - you will love Penland

the Art Glass Invitational said for me to come if I could afford it -
unfortunately - I can't afford it...

It's not blistering. It's too cooked for that. It's just leathery,
dead skin. Apparently killed all the nerve endings or something, as it
doesn't hurt. The area around it hurts like a sonofagun

ah sounds like the burn I had.
normally they heal pretty well on their own - and the lack of pain is not
unusual -
HOW BIG an area is this - if it is only a small burn - keep it covered and dry
DO NOT PUT ANYTHING on IT (like butter - old wives tale!!)
unless prescribed by a doctor
Silvadene would be best - but you need a PRESCRIPTION

unfortunately - I got mine WET - and it got infected...and I ended up in the ER
because of the INFECTION - instead of the burn...
sigh
If this is only a small burn (less than size of a quarter) -- you can probably
take good care of it yourself...
but if larger than that - see a doc..
if ANY sign of REDNESS, more pain, swelling around it, seeping - etc
GO TO DOC IMMEDIATELY!
