Default Fishing?

Always ignored them before, 'cause "Why on earth would you make a fish
quilt?" Now a young [10year old] friend is redecorating her bedroom with a
seascape painted on the wall, and I can't find any appealing twin-sized fish
quilts! Help!

Kim:
There have been some fun tessellated fish quilts, but I don't
know the source off hand. A fish quilt with a wide variety of
bright fabric can be quite striking.

Here is one with basic fish block. I'd want to tweak it ... add
some coral, seaweed, etc. NAYY.

There was one in the July/August 2005 Quiltmaker magazine:

Thanks for the info..assuming they have it here in Canada too. I'm thinking
about making this a challenge to a quilting friend: there are two girls
sharing a room [10 year old and 2 year old.] They and I have a mutual friend
who is a quilter, so I may challenge her to make the little girl's quilt
while I do one for the older one. Having a fish print in common for the two
quilts would make them look like they belong in the room, but unique to the
child.

I have a sundress that I don't wear anymore that was made from a tropical
fish print that I found at a yard sale. It's very colorful on a black
background - I think it was a Hoffman print. If you can use it let me know.

Go to quiltshops.com and type in Timeless Treasures fish. I wanted to show
you the one I have and turned up with 106 entries. That ought to do it.

Howdy!
"make" a fish quilt? Wouldn't it be easier if the
fish *wanted* to quilt?

This fish block is fairly easy & fast:

bigger school:

Perhaps the 10-yr.old could help the fish quilt.
