soda ash
I have a dye kit that says to keep left over solution (soda ash & water) for
future use. How long does it last? Teri -- Terbear~Curator of the HUG Gallery~ http://gallery.ppwp.com/gallery/HUGS Teri's quilts~ http://gallery.ppwp.com/gallery/Tquilts |

soda ash
I forgot about mine one time...I didn't have it properly covered and
sealed and consequently there was a lot of evaporation! ~~Ann in central Tx~~ |

The soda ash is often a bit of a pain to dissolve, so I tend to make up a quart or gallon or whatever when I am embarking on a dye spree. That way I just pour out what I need, or have it handy for a soak if I am doing things that way. Unless you introduce a chemical to it that it will react with (like dye for example) it will last nigh unto forever. NightMist I think I have learned more practical chemistry from dying and fine art than I ever did in chem class... -- "To repeat what others have said, requires education; to challenge it, requires brains." -Mary Pettibone Poole |
