new sponge bar fixed ribber problem
I just got a ribber for my toyota 950, the 506, and it didn't work, the
needles kept catching. Well, it was the sponge bar that had lost it's loftiness and 'strength' that was causing it, it wasn't keeping the needles down well enough. Those few millimeters was just enough for it to catch. So, replaced the sponge bar and it was great. The correct needle placement should be that when they are sticking out, you should be able to press down on top of the needles and there is no give, no spring. The needles should be touching the bed, the bottom of the needle grooves. The 501 ribber looks really identical to the 506, I think it should work on the 950 as well, but don't take my word for it...however I think it should work.. |
