Default Pasta motor glitch - reason for worry?

The other day, I had a brief "episode" with my pasta motor - a Pasta
Facile model that I have for over 2 years.

When I started using it in the morning a few days ago for the first
time the motor seemed to shift gears and slow down. When changed to
high speed, it went as fast as regular slow speed.

I thought that it was the motor's last gasp, but then a while later,
the motor returned to normal and has been that way since.

Maybe this is question I should pose to a mechanical engineer, but
perhaps some of you have had this experience and can share your what
happened - should I worry that the motor is "losing it" and will die
soon? or is it just one of those things and now that's it's over, it's
over?

Until this occurrence, the motor worked like a charm.

Thanks for any help.
