Default Polymer stamp info

Hi folks,
I was wondering where I could get info and the materials necessary for
making the photopolymer stamps. I'm in Winnipeg Manitoba, but I would be
interested in any sources in the USA and Europe as well.

Thank you for your time,
Kyle.

Kyle,

I've never heard of these. If you describe these stamps to me, I might
be able to find an answer for you at a stamp convention I'll be
attending in a couple of weeks.

Hi Barbara,

I might have gotten the name of the process incorrect.

Its the process where you make a negative of the stamp you wish to make on a
piece of transparent film, and then expose a liquid polymer to light through
the negative causing the polymer to "Fix" into the desired design. It's
supposed to only take 15 to 20 minutes of exposure to sunlight to cure the
polymer in to a rubber like substance. and then the stamp is ready to mount.
Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks for your time and efforts
Kyle.

I remember seeing a spam here for a site called stamps4u.com.
http://www.stamps4u.com

It seems easy enough, according to the description at the site, but I`m
too chicken to try it out. I don`t like the feeling of being burned for
something I bought on-line which doesn`t really work if only because I
have to keep doing it over and over again until I get the hang of it
(like learning to make pizza dough). I`ve tried visiting/calling various
art supply stores to see if they stock this item because maybe I could
pick someone`s brain about the process and/or maybe they had
demonstrations on weekends; but no such luck.

Let us know what you think of it if you do give it a whirl. I`d be
interested to know if it`s worthwhile as I have plenty of calligraphy
ideas I`d like to transfer to a stamp myself.

Hi Kyle,

I am sorry to have to report that the convention this weekend was
smaller than I'd expected, and I couldn't find anyone who knew about the
photopolymer. I hope you have better luck elsewhere! I know that there
are other rubber stamping message boards on the internet (too numerous
to list) - maybe try a different board?

Barbara
