Turkey Work Stitch Question
I've been trying to learn the turkey work stitch which I think might work with
several ideas I have percolating. I can't figure out how to camouflage the topmost anchor row which, in my experiments, looks like a collection of backstitches. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. -- another Anne, add ingers to frugalf to reply |

Once you have cut and fluffed the loops, they should pouf over the anchor row. -- Finished 9/24/04 - Quilt Show WIP: Fireman's Prayer (#2), Amid Amish Life, Angel of Autumn, Calif Sampler, Holiday Snowglobe Paralegal - Writer - Editor - Researcher http://hometown.aol.com/kmc528/KMC.html |

Try looking at this page:
http://www.heritageshoppe.com/herita...es/turkey.html The back stitches should be behind the loops. An alternative is to make a row in front of your work and make sure you put the back stitches between the rows. Did that make sense? As Karen wrote, once you snip all your loops the anchor row won't show.

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Try working a sample with five or six stitches and several rows of them. Cut the loop stitches and I think you will find the anchor row does not show.
