Zig Zag stitch
My wife has a Toyota 8800 sewing machine. She has tried to use the Zig Zag
stitch function but although it does the Zig Zag stitch it doesn't pull the material through. There are 19 different stitch patterns available and the other 18 all pull the material through. Anyone any ideas? |

It sounds like this one might be a bar-tack stitch, or maybe even a darning setting. |

There are all sorts of other stitches and one in particular has Zig Zag on the left of the picture and straight stitch on the right. This one pulls the material through where as the basic zig-zag doesn't. The picture on the switch selector is like this but rotated tclockwise through 90 degrees. (-/\/\/\/\-) |

It seems strange to me that this is the only stitch pattern that has a problem. |

Had it serviced a year or so ago and have hardly used it since. Everyone we talk to says even though it is an old machine it is a very good one and worth repairing. Not sure whether this is just a ruse to keep on handing out more money ;-) |

I will have a look at the group you mentioned - thanks |
