Joanna,

I've never heard of any of them. They're not widely available in North
America. I recently built my own electric kiln. It's much better
(more efficient) than a commercial one. It was fun to build, not
difficult, but was quite a bit of work.

Just another option for you.

Out of the three, i've heard of Rohde, me mate Kevin got one and they
are fantastic, very high build quality and seem to be reasonably cheap
to run.. I live in the UK so just cos i haven't heard of the others
means nowt, but Rohde are GOOD...

Mark, that is so awesome of you to share that information both here and to
anyone who should stumble upon your website!!!

There are a herd of folks (well maybe just a gaggle) that are selling far
less info on how to build a kiln on eBay!

You are a darling!

Thanks a lot! Your kiln's instruction is marvellous!!! It looks very
complicated and hard to build but maybe in future... It would be the best
option for me because kilns are really expensive here in Poland.
and FlameNwind has right you are incredible that you want share your
knowledge for free. I saw on eBay a kiln's plan for a 90 bucks!
thanks,
joanna

Rohde and Kittec are German kilns and Lac is Chech.
And about Rohde, has your mate a front or toploader kiln? Which of them
have you recommended?
Thanks for help for beginner

Thank you.

When I started the project the dearth of information was exactly the
motivation for diarizing the project on the web. People build fuel
kilns ALL the time, but electric
kilns are arguably simpler. It doesn't make sense to me.

I keep meaning to report back with a list of the suppliers, and a list
of the things I learned / would do differently. Someday. For now,
it's producing nice pots.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Mark.

You're welcome.

It is honestly not very hard. The bricks cut VERY easily. The
construction of the slabs (which I thought would be simple) is actually
the trickiest part. But I now know that, and I would do it
differently. The cutting doesn't damage the tools, but the dust could
if you allow it to contaminate the motors. That's the hardest part,
dust management.

I would encourage anyone to build their own.

Mark.

NB: I'm of German heritage, sorry about the game yesterday. I don't
really care about soccer/football, so I feel bad for my Polish friend
that I watched it with.

Cutting the bricks not afraid me, the electricity is really scary to me.
My friends also have built an electric kiln but not as excellent as yours.
Theirs is rectangular, frontloader and as an isolation they used.... I don't
know how it is named in English, a glass fiber, a rock wool?
Anyway I am seriously scared of the whole electricity staff, program
selector etc. but maybe I should persuade my husband to get down to this .
Firstly I must read carefully your manual and translate it for my man.
With a pile of dictionaries I think .

Don't be sorry, I'm not a football fan at all. I have really low opinion
about Polish players and even the worse about their coach. I only feel bad
for this thousands of Polish fans which went to German, they must be really
disappointed.

take care
joanna
