Kate,

It sounds to me like you've got plenty to do to keep you busy right now. But
you'll get a moment to work on your quilts sooner or later. In the meantime,
thanks for keeping us updated on the progress of the wedding attire!

That's so nice to hear! It was a fun one to do -- even if it did take five
years! I started it in the fall of 1997 and finished it on New Year's Day
2001. We gave it to Dad as a combination Christmas and birthday present, and
then when Dad passed away, it came back home. It holds a special place
because it was his.

Thanks for posting them! I've wanted to do a leaf quilt sometime and

seeing
yours sure reinforces that desire. Gorgeous!

Wow! Your quilts are gorgeous, Louise! Naturally, the one I admire the
most is the rose quilt -- I can't do appliqué to save my life, so I love
looking at everyone else's. And your hand quilting -- not just on that
quilt -- is just lovely. Thanks for sharing.

Your quilts are beautiful Louise. You should really be proud
of the wonderful work you do. I have an afghan to match that
TATW from about the same time that an aunt made!

Thanks for the compliments Sandy. I found that I do love applique -- as long
as the pieces aren't too small! It's a good take-along project, because I
prefer doing it by hand, whereas when I'm doing patchwork, the machine is my
best friend!

Taria,

You reminded me of an afghan that I have stashed away somewhere -- yep, it
came from that time period and the colors are very similar. I had forgotten
all about it. In my case, my mother made it for me.
