Silks Are Here!
My Eterna silk threads finally arrived and are they gorgeous! I
ordered 10 colors, trying to decide which to put on my sampler (still haven't finished the chart). After seeing how beautiful these are, I wish I had the money to buy the whole collection. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to buy all the stash I want or go off to stitching conventions without worrying if that's more important than replacing our broken down appliances or fixing the sagging bedroom floor. sigh I'm putting a heart on the sampler that has Hardanger in the middle and cross stitch around it. Most of the stuff on Hardanger that I've seen says it should be done with heavy thread (like Pearl cotton) to cover the fabric. Does that mean silk wouldn't work on the Kloster blocks? I bought both stranded and minitwist, but I think I'll try the stranded since it seems a lot softer. The Eterna web page says, "2 strands together equal a thread weight slightly heavier than popular cotton flosses." Does that mean that 2 strands of Eterna stranded = 1 strand of DMC, or something thereabouts? -- Suze Cat hair? That's just an embellishment. |
