The real ones don't creep me out so I guess I'm weird.

I couldn't look at anything beyond the first picture. Oh My Dear Gawd

What Is
This Lampworker Thinking.

Kudos to them for making it so lifelike. I am impressed by the talent.

Now, I need to go take an Atarax and have a good stiff drink.

I actually like tarantulas--they're the only spiders I can stand. But I've
just had som many spiders running amok in my house these past few months that
any spider is giving me the heaving abdabs now.

They're spiders for those of us who don't like spiders.

Cheers,
Carla

Ooh! They're gorgeous! If anyone knows of anyone who makes beads or lampwork
that depicts bats, PLEASE let me know. I love creepy crawlies but bats are
my favourite! I've got a beautiful bat tattoo so would be cool to have a bat
bracelet to go with it.....

I couldn't resist the first one..I only wish it were an actual bead!
I'd have a field day making a necklace or bracelet for that.

me too - I thought the sculptures were quite beautiful...
and my ex and I had them as pets years ago -- very strange pets..... LOL
(I liked to watch them - but was not up to letting them walk around on me...
NOT QUITE MY THING).
Spiders are quite elegant -- and amazing to watch. I used to like to sit and
watch them spin in the summer at Lake Erie... big fat spiders - no idea what
they were... but they would always do webs near the lights in the laundry
house, along the boat docks etc....

Spiders don't freak me out either. My boyfriend was laughing at me one
night cause while we were watching TV, a spider came spooling down
from the ceiling and landed on his chest..I spent ages trying to catch
the little sucker so one of us didn't roll over and squish it in the
night. I'm always picking them up with my bare hands and putting them
outside or out of harm's way. I don't touch ones that I can't identify
as being non-poisonous, though..wouldn't want to grab hold of
something with a nasty bite. I just get a glass and a bit of stiff
paper and trap the ones I'm not sure of that way.

There's a wolf spider living in my basement that's the size of the
palm of my hand..that one, I leave alone, cause I figure it probably
eats a lot of bugs. I've nicknamed him Wolfgang.

Now, my sister is absolutely terrified of spiders. If I didn't think
she'd smash it to pieces in a hysterical attempt to kill it on sight,
I'd hide the lampwork spider in her apartment when I get it. It'd be
great fun to squirrel it away in her underwear drawer or something.
I'll just stick to rubber ones for that plan.
