Default Beading work habits

Does anyone else have trouble working when the weather is dark and rainy? We
are having intense storms today and although it is only 10:30 AM, the darkness
level outside looks like 4PM or later. I'm having a lot of trouble working
today - I have special orders to finish - and I realized that I have this
problem when it is dark outside. This may be because my eyes are so bad, I'm
legally blind without my glasses, but I was just curious if the weather affects
any other beaders/beadmakers this way? Time to go get out the Ott lamp.

Thanks,
Patti

Yup. I've been buzzing around the apartment, trying to start working on
things, but simply can't. I'm working on another doll outfit, which I
must finish before I can get back to beading (sewing stuff takes up a
lot of space on my crafting table), but I've only been able to select
fabrics so far today. *That* was a trial, even with the Ott light, and
every other light in the place, on.

The best I can do on days like today is get "organized" for when the sun
does come out again.

I hate to say it but I'm just the opposite. Since my lampwork "studio" is
outside, dark rainy weather drives me indoors. Since I have hopelessly
restless hands, the rare bad weather days send me to my bead stash so I can
do SOMETHING with beads. (Although lately I've taken up knitting again. LOL)

I can go either way, actually. When it's bright and breezy, I do like to
open up the window, put on some good music and bead for a while, then go
outside. I do get a lot done when it's rainy and cloudy, although usually
it's repair work or things that don't require a huge amount of creativity,
like name bracelets and the like.

so am I---and yes, it affects me when it gets dark. Thats a time I DO sit under
the fullspectrum lights to work, or give it up and cook and clean and read
instead.

Your question, and most of the responses, describe the effects of Depression
and more specifically SAD. Using lots of full spectrum lights helps. As
does decluttering.

Hi,

I use Reveal brand light bulbs. It helps, especially during the months of
grayness.....

Best,
Deborah

dark and rainy means my joints act up. The grey also puts me in a downer
mood and I just want to crawl into bed and wait for it to be over.

I can work at the torch -- that is never a problem --
(for one thing - the torch is bright, like the sun, and gives off both UV and
IR... which is why we have to wear protective lenses)

but anything else around the house -- bleahhhhhh !!!! I'd rather hibernate...
