Default OT update on niece

The prayers for my niece are definitely working. The cervical surgery
appears to be successful and the doctor is confident that Ellie will carry
the baby thru week 35 if all goes as it has been. She is still on modified
activity but they are no longer talking in terms of bed rest. The new due
date is October 2. She will see the specialist every other week from now on
but we are feeling much better about the prospects. She, of course, is
thrilled and thankful for all of your prayers.
Thank you so much for being there for my family. I will keep you posted.

Oh that's fabulous! Babies born at 35 weeks usually do really really
well. Recent neonatology is amazing -- my youngest was born at 32
weeks, and he spent only 13 days in the hospital. He's an active,
healthy 14-yr-old now, and they've made a lot of progress since. I
heard a doc on CNN last night saying that they can routinely save babies
at 25 weeks now. Just amazing.

It does sound more promising now - what is it they call it? Guarded
optimism? g Stay in there little one, hold on tight.
