Missoni style cap
I am looking for a crochet pattern for that oh so populsr (Carrie on Sex and

What is a Missoni cap ? how is it formed ? i have the beautiful book

Helen , I agree with you the brim is crocheted and the body of the hat is

Yeah, and it looks like those 'cables' are actually braids made of yarn strands, probably sewn down onto the underlying knit...considering they're going at right angles to the direction of the knit fabric. g IOW, no real cabling going on at all, from what I'm seeing. Of course, I could be seeing strangely. But those do look like braids, instead of a braided cable stitch. No knit stitches in the braids themselves, just smooth strands of yarn, plaited - which is kind of a dead giveaway.
