Default Help on pattern

Hi, I am rather new to knitting and I was wondering if anyone could help me with finishing my project.

I have been asked to felt my work following these instructions;

A large flat piece like this tends to get a lettucey ruffled edge when felted. To keep side edges pulled in, thread a strand of yarn into tapestry needle and weave in and out along both side edges of body. Pull strands gathering side edges in to ½ of their original length, anchoring strands every 5”.

I am not sure how to anchor every 5". Could anyone help with this?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Jellytots!

I would weave in and out along the side for 5",
Then I would pull the strand, so the edge i now had sewn is half of what
it was (to 2,5"), Then anchor it so it don't gliss back to the first
length, by sew a couple of stitches on the top of the last stitch. Then
start on new 5", pull to 2,5" and achor it.
I don't know if you understood me, I am Norwegian, and not very clear in
English explanations! LOL!

Aud ;-)
