Default Christmas Tag Swap.

I vote that we do necklaces as the Christmas Tag Swap. This will give
everyone time to make a necklace in time for the swap. Have them ready
to mail on November 29th (Monday after Thanksgiving). This should give
enough time for all packages local and international to reach their
intended destinations. Mark the package with the word "TAG" and
everyone holds it until a prearranged date and everyone opens them on
that day. Take pictures prior to shipping and send them to Nicole's
email address so that she can post them when all necklaces have been
received or during the week after Christmas. When you sign-up include
the necklace size you normally wear. (I have an 18 inch neck and do not
like something tight around my neck, so I have to have a 19 inch MALE
necklace. Just because I do beads does not mean I like pink or flowers
on my wallpaper or sheets!) :-D This could be done
like a Secret Santa Swap........you are assigned a number by order of
signing up and the person running this picks a number out of a hat or
bowl that corresponds to a name and mailing address on a list and
privately emails you who you are making yours for, their size
requirement and their address to mail it to. You don't tell the person
that you got their name so they are pleasantly surprised when they open
the gift.

Oh come on, Ray--you wouldn't wear a gorgeous set of encased electric pink
florals with teal accents? *snickers*

that sounds awesome! I love the idea of a secret swap - but Christmas is so
far away!

What about those of us that don't celebrate Christmas?

Great idea. I'd be happy to join in on that one, since I'm feeling more
confident with my bead stringing and weaving.

Mine's a margarita! Cuervo Gold please!

How about Yule or the Winter Solstice? Hannukah? Rammadan?

Exactly - maybe we can just call it a Winter Swap and let it go from there?
Same rules and deadlines.

B.

PS I don't think Ramadan is a gift-giving holiday, but I could be wrong.
Maybe food beads that you only look at after sundown would be appropriate.

But what about those from the other hemisphere?

;-)

Maybe we can call it a Turn of the Seasons swap and let each person decide
if they want to celebrate something religious along with it.

I like the idea of a Winter Swap. Opens it up a little bit more. I might
even be able to do this one. grin
