Default Wonderful News!

WOW - that is fantastic Victoria! I've heard how awful the treatment for
that can be. One of our local newscasters had it this past year, and they
covered his treatment on the radio - not detailed, but he talked about it a
good bit. You could tell how awful he felt just by his voice, not to mention
the horrible side effects he talked about. I had never realized they used
chemotherapy to treat it!

My physician called and I am CURED of hepatitis C! Cured. Not remission,

not
almost, I'm CURED!!!!!!

He said the horrible pain in my joints and muscles should greatly improve

as
time goes by, but that it will take a few more years to recover from that.

Now I'm left with other things, but nothing that will definitely kill me,

as
hepatitis C would!

Just wanted to share it with you all. I was horrible last year. Thanks

deeply
to those who recognized it was the agony and treatment. You helped me

through
one of my tougher years.

respectfully,
Victoria

They discovered patients with lukemia were contracting the hepatitis c virus
through the blood banks. That was before they knew this new form of mutated
hepatitis was detected. Lukemia patients get large doses of this form of chemo,
and it was getting rid of their virus. So, they did trails to see if it was
feasible, and then more trials on dosage.

That was in '91. They've since developed about eight other forms of Interferon
designed to fit the virus receptors much better, depending on your genotype. I
had 1-A, the most resistant form, and mostly found in the States.

It's a rough ride. I went through it 4 times in my life, and finally it seems
to have worked.
