Dyeing with Echium (bugloss)
I'd like to try some dying with Echium vulgare (viper's bugloss)
roots. This is NOT Anchus officinalis, dyer's bugloss, but it was used here in Quebec in days past to dye wool red. Does anyone have any information on mordants for this dyestuff? Thanks, RK Henderson Author of "The Neighborhood Forager," the complete guide to the wild edibles of residential areas. For more information, see http://rkhen.tripod.com/ |
