Working with Platinum and any other metal

Just to let you know your posts do make a difference. I had an older Lady come in to the shop today wanting me to cut the white gold top of her ring so she could wear it as a plain gold band. She wanted to wait and watch, as she was very nervous about leaving it. Rather than say I can't do I made an appointment for her to come back. For some of the nervous customers, it's not mistrust of the jeweler, but rather an emotional attachment to the jewelry that they then simply don't feel good about being away from. Wedding rings worn for decades can do that to some folks. These types I feel good about trying to accomodate, though most often, the deal is a "while you wait" thing, rather than while they watch, since in your shop, it's difficult to actually watch much of anything other than the back of the jewelers... I hear there are some well paid jobs going at the UN these days Yeah. I hear they're a real blast... Sorry. BAD humor... Peter |
