NO MEASURING OR PINNING. You need flannel and polar fleece. The flannel will
be narrower then the polar fleece. Cut your flannel to the size you want the
quilt. Make sure you square it up. Lay your flannel on top of your polar
fleece and cut it around 2" bigger then you fleece. Take your fleece fold it
and press it to make nice firm press marks. Where you press your line on the
fleece will be where you will sew to quilt. I usually fold in half hen in
half again and press firm lots of steam then open and fold the other way and
do the same. Now lay your polar fleece on a table and lay your fleece on top
of it. fold back half of the fleece and spray baste it. smooth the fleece
over the sprayed part. then fold back the other side and do the same. Go to
the sewing machine and sew on you pressed lines. I use a decorative stitch
if the fleece is plain or just a straight stitch if it is colorful. Then
when all the quilting is done Just lay the 2" edge over the fleece to form a
binding, do not turn under the edge it doesn't ravel. Sew with a zigzag
stitch along the edge. Fold the corner to make a miter corner. You are done.
I got one done in about three hours. Great gifts.

Thanks! Those sound quick to make and cuddly when finished.

We've received and made a few Linus blankets made this way - they are
wonderful! When we make them we run two quilting lines diagonally from
corner to corner so that you don't have a balloon coming out of the dryer
when the blanket is washed.
