That is too funny!! I hope Bob's head is ok, and his ego not too hurt from
being beaten by a squirrel!

.com...
After longing for fruit trees all my life, Bob and I planted a peach and

an
apple tree last year. They're some kind of ultra-dwarf species, so they

are
supposed to bear at least some fruit the second year. Apparently, the

trees
didn't read the manual, because I got no apples and three peaches. We've
been watching the peaches ripen further each day, and I anticipated they'd

be
ready for picking either today or tomorrow.

Apparently, I wasn't the only one watching the peaches. Bob came in from
work, asking me if the peaches were tasty. I said that I haven't even

been
out today, and the last time I looked, the peaches were still there.
"They're not there now," he answered.

He had to leave for a sales call, and quickly departed. A few moments

later,
the phone rang - Bob, calling from the car. He had to tell me the rest of

the
story. As he was leaving the house, he ran into his dad, who said he had
found a half-peach on the steps. Grandpa threw the half-eaten fruit into

the
bushes and forgot all about it.

Bob started searching the bushes for the peach. "then some little f*cker
whacked me in the head with a peach pit!"

He was unable to catch the squirrel, who ran up onto the garage roof,
laughing. Bob ranted about his beaned head and the stolen peaches for a

few
moments, and then I said that I'd have to buy some of those anti-squirrel
nets for next year.

"Forget that!" he shrieked, "I'm getting a .22! That'll teach them to mess
with the fruit and bean me off the head. I even saved the peach pit to

show
you later."

He did not appreciate my laughter. But now I'm torn: amused because the
squirrel beaned Bob off the head, and disappointed that I never even got

to
taste one peach.
