lazertan inkjet

Bonjour,

I bought some lazertan injet paper and have tried without success ( I would
event say it was a catastrophy!) to correctly transfer an image to baked
clay. Has anyone tried that product ? I need your advices badly!

What I have read is that you want a paper with no cotton in it. I guess
the cotton fibers are the problem. That's why magazine prints work so
well. You are supposed to be able to use laser prints as well.

Magazine (and any other glossy ) paper has a very thin clay coating.
most ink jet papers dont have this coating. This thin layer of clay keeps
the inks from soaking down into the fibers (wood pulp, cotton, and so on)
making more of the ink available for image transfer.
The smooth surface of glossy paper (magazine, glossy photo, etc.) also
allows a much higer resolution image to be produced than with the
comparatively coarse inkjet, laser, DP and typing papers.
And I thought those graphic arts classes at comunity college were just
wasted time... ;o)

I know that is an expensive paper that basically allows you to make
decals. What kind of printer and ink did you use? What process did
you follow? What kind of finish? What part was the catastrophe?
Wrinkles on the finished piece?

The inkjet and silk seem to be back ordered though, due 04/08. So that
did a lot of good huh?
