Default Iron on Transfer Paper

I didnt really know what to search for, so sorry if this has been asked
and answered, but with Iron-On transfer paper using an inkjet printer
for the image/text I always get the whole transfer on the paper, not
just the graphics.

I only want the graphics/test to transfer, not the part of the transfer
paper that was not printed on. Is there any specail paper to do this,
or is it just a process where you absolutely have to cut around
everything on the paper to get my desired effect.

Thanks
Patrick
