Default Stupid clay, stupid me

I ordered, and received a rotary tool (imitation Dremel), to use for
buffing beads. I had it up and running last night and was *much*
impressed by the results.

Around 8:00 p.m. I got the bright idea to go through all my clay stash,
stuff that wasn't already strung or made into something else; stuff that
I had polyurethaned, or Futured, or (way back) Mod Podged, and throw
them all in the tumbler to get the polish off, then do a little light
hand-sanding in case there were any shiny spots left, and then buff them.

This afternoon around 2:00, I started the "light hand-sanding". Around
5:30, I took a break, thinking "I hate clay. I really really hate
clay!" After a sandwich and a cup of coffee, I calmed down and went
back to sanding. Around 7:00 or so, I had achieved an almost Zen state,
where my hands weren't cramping anymore and my back wasn't hurting. Of
course, my butt is numb and my right thumb won't stop twitching.

The beads are drying now, all 200 of them (and when the *heck* did I
make 200 beads?!?), and I think they're laughing at me. But I'll have
the last laugh, when I buff those suckers to a glorious glow...if I can
lift the buffer.

Cheers,
Carla

Was there something in particular I should be looking at? I'm always
happy to shop for new tools g, but I didn't see anything there that
would make buffing beads easier.

Actually, the buffing is the easy part now. It's the sanding that's
going to give me fits.

Cheers,
Carla

Ah, I see g. Well, I did drop some of them often enough that maybe
leaving them on the floor would've made it easier

Cheers,
Carla
