needle size for perle cotton?
I am going to stitch a shephards bush halloween thing (forget the name)
on 18 count linen over 2...Most of the stitching is done with #5 perle cotton. (Some of the lettering is done in a finer thread I believe) What size needle should I be using? Thanks in advance! |

Sara I think a 24 would be too small for size 5 but you can try it. My choice would be a 22. Alison |

Alison The main thing to consider when deciding on the proper needle size, is which needle will enlarge the hole enough so that the thread will pass through the fabric without too much friction. Friction causes wear on the thread and causes it will to lose its sheen. I agree a 22 would be the best to use for #5 Perle cotton. Mavia |
